形態特徵

• Herbs, glabrous or covered with septate hairs on some parts, 50–100 cm tall; stems square, glabrous or puberulent at nodes.
• Leaves petiolate; petioles glabrous or very sparsely minutely hairy, 1.5–3.5 cm long; blades lanceolate to triangular-ovate, 3–7 cm long, 1.2–3 cm wide, base cuneate, apex acuminate, margins serrate, both surfaces glabrous, veinlets prominent on lower surface, 4 or 5 paired.
• Inflorescences of verticillate cymes, forming axillary or terminal racemes or panicles, axils minutely hairy, bracteoles minute, ovate or triangular, acuminate, shorter than the pedicel; calyx ovoid-tubular, 5-toothed, bilabiate, upper lip 3-lobed, middle lobe larger, broadly ovate, obtuse, lower lip 2-toothed, teeth linear to narrowly triangular; corolla tubular, tube glabrous, limb bilabiate, minutely hairy, upper lip 3-lobed, central lobe ovate, larger than lateral lobes, lower lip ovate, undulate; stamens 4, didynamous, declined; anthers 2-celled; stigma bifid.
• Nutlets short-ellipsoid, ca. 0.7 mm long, smooth, rounded at top, slightly compressed.

分布

• 世界 : tropical Africa and tropical Asia to Australia; found in the wasteland of Is. Liuchiu.
